#winwithWILLOWS And Four 2025 Finalist Authors

We asked our finalist authors if they would consider doing virtual author visits with classrooms in Saskatchewan. They said YES! We were able to find funds to offer 4 visits and drew names randomly. Here are the chosen authors:

• Shining Willow author Maria Birmingham for Odd Couples
• Diamond Willow author Suri Rosen for A Bucket of Stars
• Snow Willow author Anna Rosner for My Left Skate

You could win a virtual visit with one of these authors! To enter, please fill in the following form. It is expected that students will have read or have had the relevant title(s) read to them prior to the visit. The #winwithWILLOWS contest opens on February 3, 2025 and closes on February 28, 2025. Winners will be notified in the first week of March via email.

Eligibility:

The #winwithWILLOWS Contest (the “Contest”) is open to individual legal residents of the province of Saskatchewan who, at the time of entry, are 18 years of age or older who are entering on behalf of youth readers in their school or library community. Officers of SYRCA as well as such officers’ immediate family (father/mother, brother/sister, son/daughter) or persons living under the same roof are not eligible to win this Contest.

Limit of one entry per person with readers in Grade Kindergarten and up. Entries received from any person, in excess of the stated limitation will be void. No purchase required to enter.

Sponsor:

The Contest is sponsored by the Saskatchewan Young Reader’s Choice Awards – The Willow Awards Inc. (the “Sponsor”).

Agreement to Official Rules:

Participation in the Contest constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these official rules and the decision of the Sponsor, which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent on being compliant with these official rules and fulfilling all other requirements set forth herein.

Contest period:

Contest opens on February 1, 2025(CST) and runs until February 28, 2025 (CST) (The “Contest Period”).  All entries received after February 28, 2025 (CST) will be void.

Prize Draw:

Winners will be chosen by random draw in the first week of March. Winners will be notified during that week via email. The Sponsor reserves the right to publish the winner’s first and last name and, where applicable, the name of the school or library.

No prize substitutes, assignments or transfers. No cash equivalent. The odds of being selected will depend on the number of submissions received.

Grand Prize:

Win a 30 minute virtual visit with a Willow finalist author. Approximate retail value of $250.

No guarantee of virtual visit if scheduling prevents it. The authors will make reasonable efforts to find a mutually agreed upon time for the winning school or library and themselves for the virtual visit. No guarantee is made that a mutually agreed upon time will be chosen, and the authors will not be able to make a virtual visit if a mutually agreed upon time is not chosen.
